Kara Robertson isn’t just an attorney—she’s a problem solver with a passion for helping people navigate life’s toughest moments. Her journey to family law wasn’t a straight path, but every step along the way shaped her into the compassionate and strategic advocate she is today.
Before stepping into the legal world, Kara spent years leading high-stakes IT projects, managing teams, and implementing cutting-edge software solutions for companies like IBM and the Allegheny County Health Department. When the pandemic hit, she played a crucial role in supporting public health efforts, proving her ability to tackle complex challenges with precision and care.
But deep down, Kara knew her true calling wasn’t in corporate boardrooms or software deployments—it was in making a direct impact on people’s lives. That’s why, after earning her law degree from Duquesne University Thomas R. Kline School of Law, she chose family law over corporate law. Now, as an Associate Attorney at Tibbott & Richardson, she’s dedicated to helping individuals and families find freedom and peace through strategic legal representation.
When she’s not advocating for her clients, you’ll likely find Kara gliding through Pittsburgh’s rivers with the Three Rivers Rowing Association or getting back into her yoga practice—two passions that keep her grounded and balanced.
Kara is a proud alumna of Pennsylvania State University (B.A. in English, Minor in Women’s Studies) and the University of Pittsburgh (Master of Library and Information Science). She’s an active member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Allegheny County Bar Association, and the Women’s Bar Association.
At her core, Kara is more than an attorney—she’s a dedicated ally who understands that legal challenges are personal. Whether you’re facing a family law issue or just need someone in your corner, she’s here to help you find a path forward with clarity, confidence, and care.
