Be Prepared Before You Leave Your Relationship

• Tax returns (last 3 years)
• W2s (last 3 years)
• Pay stubs (last 6 months)
• All other income information
• Retirement account statements (IRA, 401k, pensions, etc.) for both parties
• Mortgage statements
• Vehicle registrations/ownership documentation (for cars, boats, quads, etc.)
• Auto loan statements
• Student loan statements for both parties
• Any other loan statements
• Copies of auto registration cards
• Copies of auto insurance cards (and policies)
• Life insurance policy information
• Health insurance policy information
• Other insurance policy information
• Copies of all credit cards front and back
• Credit card statements
• Bank statements for each account (last 3 years)
• Passwords for all online accounts that are jointly held
• Photos of safe deposit box inventory
• Photos of any cash or valuables in the home or elsewhere

• Inventory and photos of all furniture and personal property in the home
• Consider removing all personal items of sentimental value from the home for safekeeping (make sure you have digital copies of photos, etc.)
